Wacken Open Air. Milwaukee Metalfest. Ozzfest. And now, MQMusicfest. Yes, soon Canada will have one of its own outdoor music festivals, courtesy of Metal Queen Management (MQM). 50+ bands plus three stages equals three beer soaked days of madness!

MQMusicfest is shaping up to be the first of its kind in this country: three days straight of Hard Rock/Metal chaos at Trudeau Park, about two hours east of Toronto and three hours west of Montreal - July 7, 8 and 9. The event is sponsored by Long and McQuade Musical Instruments, Brave Words & Bloody Knuckles magazine and Steve's Music.

The playlist still has to be finalized, but it will include most the MQM roster, such as Shatterpoint, Warmachine, Endorphins, Valkyries Cry, I Hate Sally, Little Sunday, Rehab For Quitters, along with surprise guests.

MQMs president, Betty Dworatschek, says the majority of the acts will be homegrown Canadians largely from Ontario and Quebec. Thats what this is all about: the Canadian scene, our Canadian talent. We have so much of it.

There will be plenty of that at MQMusicfest - three days worth, complete with licensed bar and merch-tents. Advance tickets available for $25 (and that includes camping)!

Stay tuned for updates...
