TORONTO, ON. - May 23, 2006 —Metal Queen Management, Long & McQuade, and Brave Words & Bloody Knuckles and Steve’s Music present MQMusic Fest, a chaotic three-day showcase in Trudeau Park, ON of some of the best metal and hard rock bands the country has to offer. This festival—think Ozzfest, Milwaukee Metal Fest, Wacken Open Air—will be the first of its kind in Canada.
On July 7, 8 and 9, 50+ bands will take on three stages in Tweed’s Trudeau Park for a weekend of camping and loudest, hardest metal and rock out there. The $25 pay-at-the-gate ticket fee includes admission to all 50 shows, and access to Trudeau Park’s privately owned camping grounds and its fully licensed bar for all three days. The festival will offer various vendor booths, as well as workshops and seminars for musicians courtesy of our sponsor, Long & McQuade Musical Instruments. Tweed is located approximately two hours east of Toronto, and three hours west of Montreal—detailed directions can be found at the venue’s website, www.trudeaupark.com.
“The majority of the acts will be home-grown Canadians, largely from Ontario and Quebec. That’s what this is all about: the Canadian scene, our Canadian talent. We have so much of it,” says MQM president Betty Dworatschek of the line-up.
The bands that have signed on include most of MQM’s artist roster, as well as many other local independent groups. Among those performing are Ontario metal band, 7th Reign.
So this July 7, 8 and 9, bring your friends, and pitch a tent for the weekend in Trudeau Park, for three days of metal, camping, beer and food at the first annual MQMusic Fest!
